Shamwai telecom has developed the Electronic Beat (eBeat) for the Police Department. In this process, the beat book is replaced with an RFID tag, which contains a unique ID and is fixed at the location of the beat point book. The pen is replaced by a compact, hand held RFID Tag Reader which records the unique ID of the tag when operated near the Tag. The reader will be connected to an interface to the Computer at the police station to download the information of the various RFID tags which are placed at different locations in the beat.
Each beat constable performing the night patrolling is assigned with one reader. While performing his beat duty; he reads the RFID tag information from various points in the beat and downloads this information to the computer at the Police Station through the Loader Charger unit which has an inbuilt IRDA port. Shamwai’s Hand Held Reader consists of a programmable Controller with inbuilt rewritable memory and flash based firmware with flexibility to upgrade reader software features. The reader also possesses upto 64KB of rewritable memory and has a serial interface to transfer the data to the host Computer. The Hand Held Reader also will have built-in battery to operate for more than one day at continuous stretch. The loader charger is capable of charging five units at once |
